Lebanon unfolds like an open-air museum, with ancient stones that tell stories from centuries past. In Baalbek, the Temple of Bacchus stands among the most impressive Roman ruins outside Italy, its columns framed by Beqaa Valley light. In Byblos, one of the oldest cities in the world, ruins sit beside a bustling harbor and modern cafés, blending past and present in a single stroll. Within hours from Beirut, travelers reach these historical treasures, along with local vineyards in the valley, where winemaking traces back thousands of years.

The land itself surprises. Lebanon’s forests include dense stands of ancient cedar, emblematic to both its flag and heritage. In the north, the Tannourine Cedar Reserve protects over two million of these trees amid steep slopes and hidden springs, home to birds and rare wildflowers. In winter, skiers glide across Mount Lebanon’s slopes; by afternoon, they could be swimming in the Mediterranean.

Beirut traces its roots back over 5,000 years. Once called Berytus during the Roman era, it grew into a key port of the Mediterranean. Today’s visitors can follow the Beirut Heritage Trail, a 2.5 km walking route marked with bronze medallions, that links archaeological sites, historic courtyards, and restored Ottoman buildings. The path unveils layers of the city's past one block at a time.
